Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school is unique just like our students; there is a mixture of students that attend each day. Our school is a Title I school with students that are bright and talented. These students are seeking to change generations of poverty through successful education. These students are seeking to change their future.
Dreamers, thinkers, talkers, questioners, world changers and readers are who consume our room.
Advanced readers to non-readers come in and out of my classroom in search of a good book, a book that can take them to a different world. For some, books help them escape from their own world for a portion of time.
My Project
Our school has a STEM focus, students are creating and thinking critically throughout the day in my class. Students are challenged to think outside of the box though innovation and creativity. Throughout STEM units students are challenged to think about issues around the world and come up with solutions to them thorough various STEM design challenges.
Starting the day with a STEM start will allow students the time to get ready to think critically through creativity.
Students will have various activities that they can work on during the first few minutes of each day. This will allow them to get their creative juices flowing.
I want all of my students to have the opportunity to have time to get in the "school" mode. I want my students to have the opportunity to engage in STEM every day.
