My Project

I work with students in grades 6, 7, and 8 in the after school program. They absolutely love the program and especially being active while improving their fitness and learning STEM principles. The supplies that I have requested will allow all young people a safe, supervised time to participate in an active activity. Opportunities to teach physics, body mechanics, and energy transformations abound with the equipment that is in my cart.

I try to have multiple activities for all students from the most coordinated and fit young person to the those that are beginning to embrace fitness and movement.

I have requested a set of cornhole games, frisbees, cones, ring toss games, and extra cornhole bags. The students will be able to participate in the activities that they choose and best meet their own needs. Before and after each session with this equipment we'll begin and end with STEM connections for their chosen sports/fitness activities. STEM professionals move and physical fitness for life is important! Teaching middle schoolers in a fun, interactive way will be more engaging and I hope to promote lifelong wellness, too.
