My Students

Singing, dancing, jumping, laughing, and learning are a few verbs that describe the welcoming atmosphere you will see daily in our classroom and virtually. Our ParentAware, four-star rated pre-kindergarten classroom has been running for 16 years and is ready for updated materials and furnishings.

The amazing children in our classroom deserve clean, high-quality educational materials that are visually appealing and safe to use daily.

Eighty-three percent of the students at my building qualify for free or reduced-price lunch. One of the honors I have, as the lead teacher, is that I get to collaborate with the families of our students. I get to help ensure their child’s first experience in school is a positive one! Many of my students are English Language Learners. I work to incorporate their home languages into our environment and routines. Our young students have the opportunity to learn through play and guided discoveries both inside and outside. From day one, all of our students learn mindful strategies for understanding their emotions, handling disappointments and disagreements. We do this by using games, solution kit cards, a breathing ball, a chime, role-playing, and lots of practice, of course.

My Project

The maple bench with space for storage will provide the perfect place for books about STEM learning. The soft blue carpeting will give a comfy space for our students to experiment in our discovery area during playtime. The magnets will hold all of the creations, ideas for inventions, pictures created by our young scientists, and STEM vocabulary with pictures! The Teachers Pay Teachers gift cards will provide STEM learning vocabulary cards for each unit we study and pictures to be sent home to families.

All of these resources would help our students feel safe, comfortable, and ready to learn all about STEM!
