This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My middle school is located on the East side of Houston, Texas. Most of the students are of low socioeconomic status. We are also a Title 1 school that has students that were affected by Hurricane Harvey.

My students are eager and willing to explore new technology.

Many of my students are from low income households and because of that they are unable to have access to technology outside of the classroom that could help enhance possible technological career paths in the future.

My Project

The Chromebooks will enable my students to have access to technology at their fingertips. They will allow them to work on STEM technology projects in the classroom instead of having to go to other locations within the school.

Technology is essential within the educational world today.

Allowing my students to work with technology in the classroom will give them a taste of the real world. Technology is utilized in everything we do. Because my students come from different socioeconomic statuses I feel that it is important that they are given more hands on experiences with technology during their middle school years.
