Mr. Quijada from Newark NJ is requesting educational kits & games through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need mBot programmable robots for their STEM Projects Career Path Class. The students will get a chance to code, build and customize their own robots!

My students are invested in their education and it is clear that they are ready to learn! Our school is located in an urban area -Newark, NJ and my students show they have potential for great things. Many students enjoy going above and beyond with their projects by challenging themselves.
My students have great goals and they work hard in order to achieve them.
There are many students that have, unfortunately, difficulties from where they come from but this does not stop them. They show that they are inspired when given a project and, as I said, they enjoy the challenge. They really show me the greatness they have within them and I want to make sure they have all the necessary tools to help their inspiration and achieve their goals.
S.T.E.M. is the future and my students are so interested in all four categories. The "T" stands for technology and my STEM Projects Career Path class involves robotics. This projects involves so many parts of a career. With the Makeblock mBot, my students will be able to build a robot, use Scratch 2.0 coding to code the robot and we will have a small competition using the robots. This project is being done to inspire the students to try more challenging coding languages in the future and it gives them a small taste of engineering in the future. I will use this project as an introduction to robotics and hopefully they will try more challenging robotics in the future when they go on to high school! In the past few weeks, we have been working on understanding code and how to implement it. Since we don't have the robots on hand, my students have been coding games to show what they have learned. (This also got them interested in coding!) These materials will be used for many years to inspire more and more kids to want to pursue any career and particularly some in the S.T.E.M. field!
