Help me give my students a primary introduction to the Engineering Design Process using Osmo Coding.
This project expired on November 25, 2019.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
Our school is all about putting students needs first. Students desire to learn using hands on manipulatives. Of my 751 elementary students, 42% identify as low income. I am blessed to teach kindergarten and 1st-grade in a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) lab.
Students absolutely love attending STEM Lab, where they participate in engaging partner challenges.
They are so incredibly engaged that sometimes they don't even realize they are communicating, exploring, problem solving, and self learning through trial and error.
The Osmo Genius Kit would promote student engagement in physics, space, problem solving, spacial awareness, phonics, vocabulary, counting, adding, multiplying, and drawing. The kit includes tangram pieces, numbers tiles, words tiles, and stackable storage for each game. The kit works great with all learning levels as it allows for a continuation of learning for many subjects. I love resources like the Osmo Genius Kit because they promote learning for both my advanced and disabled learners.
Osmo makes it simple for primary students to actively engage in the coding process.
I am eager to introduce students to the Engineering Design Process with the help of this kit.
My student's 21st century skills will be met using this engaging technological enhancement.
My dream is for students to be able take what they've learned in their general classroom and dig deeper. Using Osmo, students will be able to identify common shapes found in nature as well as create an animal, for example, using multiple tangrams.
From a teacher's standpoint, Osmo is an outstanding resource because it features student progress in real time! There's even free online teacher training and lessons to insure a full understanding of what Osmo has to offer!
