My students are fun, energetic, and excited about learning. My students come from low income families. Nearly 98 percent of the students at my school qualify for the free or reduced lunch program. Our school is a STEM school, with a tortoise habitat and a student run gardening program. Many of my students are English language learners, speaking Somali, Spanish, Arabic, and others. Many of them live with multiple family members in single bedroom apartments. Many take home snackpacks on Fridays to supplement meals on the weekends.
Despite these hardships my 1st graders come to school with smiles on their faces ready to start their day.
These STEM bins include all of the manipulatives my students will need to support our STEM school program. Students will be able to engineer a variety of objects using blocks, cubes, pipe cleaners, popsicle sticks, Legos, and other manipulatives. We can use these bins during morning work stations, or students who finish activities early will be able to grab a STEM bin and start building!
STEM bins are a great way for my students to be creative using hands-on resources.
They love to build and create, so these developmentally appropriate materials will be a perfect addition to our classroom STEM activities!
