Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

These materials will make a difference because they will make these STEM lessons possible. Ensuring I have enough supplies to do all the lessons I love to do is crucial and donations make such a big impact in my K-5 classroom.

Many of these supplies will help my students complete engineering challenges like a parade float, balloon powered car, or a winter globe.

The balloons would serve as a material for students to decorate and then code a robot to move along our parade route. It is such a memorable lesson that all my students adore because it's our very own Macy's Day Parade. The pump will help me blow up over 300 balloons for my students and help me save my breath. What better way to make a car move than with the air in your lungs? The leftover balloons will be utilized to make balloon powered cars as students are introduced to different forms of energy. The cups and straws would be utilized to make winter globes for my K-1 students. Straws are also something we utilize often to construct all sorts of things like a stand for an object, or the tallest tower. All these materials are versatile and something that could make a huge impact in my STEM lab. Any support is greatly appreciated.
