This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I am currently serving special education students and regular education students ages 3-6, the majority being boys and a few girls. They are for the first time attending a school environment and or a virtual school environment. Additionally, some students have an IFSP (Individual Family Service Plan) and some who are not diagnosed and are waiting for an evaluation. They are thrust into a regular education environment and need additional educational supports, including accommodations. They are very different from one another and are in need of funding for STEM supplies at home or for in class learning. This is as a result of school closings and the rapid spread of the Coronavirus.
They are very happy and are so very excited to start attending virtual school everyday, and they are not concerned about their disabilities, differences and or handicaps.
They are excited about life and the new experiences that they will encounter throughout their day filled with learning.
My Project
I vision a group of very young students learning about STEM at a very early age. Most scientist, engineers, and doctors expose their children to the many opportunities of learning that are available to them. Students are open to learning at a very early stage, with an ability to operate with a strong sense of curiosity.
Students with a scientific mind start showing signs of those gifts at a very early age.
The telescopes, architect building designs, magnets, waterfall building structures, geometric blocks, measuring tapes, magnifying glass kits, and civil engineer kits, will help to develop those gifts, and skills; and place a real love for the learning of the sciences. This will also give teachers a very good idea of how to teach those very scientific minds.
