This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach a group of talented and motivated pre-kindergartners, kindergartners, and first graders from Virginia Beach, Virginia. They love learning to read and write and they also enjoy STEM activities every day.
My students are excited to add some new activities to our school's STEM lab.
If my project is funded, I can implement the new materials in the student's STEM lab station rotations, which will help keep my students interested and motivated to explore and create. These items will help us learn all about science, math, technology, and engineering.
Some of the challenges our students face are poverty, lack of parental support, and lack of educational resources. I would like to provide my students with every opportunity and advantage possible. By donating to our school, you are helping to change the lives of some very grateful kids.
My Project

Our school has an amazing STEM lab and as the Instructional Technology Specialist, I am always looking for new ways to make our STEM Lab exciting and engaging for students.
These materials will inspire my students as they create and collaborate in the STEM Lab!
The Talking Microscopes will help them use their observation skills as they learn how to become scientists. I am very excited for the possibility of receiving an Echo Dot, so my students can use Alexa to hear stories, find the answers to all of their burning questions, and verify their answers to their work. The Lego mini-figures will help them use their imagination and creativity while developing their engineering skills by building. The borders will help keep the STEM lab keeping fresh and attractive.
