STEM Kits in Kindergarten

My students need a STEM kit and a problem solving kit to develop their STEM skills: Science, Mathematics, Engineering and Technology.

My Students

"We all make mistakes and that is how we learn." This is the mantra in my classroom. My students are encouraged to try and fail and try again. Persistence and exploration are character traits I work to develop in my students each day.

Kindergarten is an exciting adventure in learning.

Children come to school with a hunger to explore and discover. They are thirsty for connections with others. These little people spend their days asking questions, soaking up information and then enthusiastically sharing what they have learned. My students beg to sing our favorite songs and to play our silly games. Their positive energy is contagious and it is an honor to work with them each day.

My Project

I devote every Wednesday to exploration of STEM skills. These kits will assist me in setting up challenges that are appropriate for kindergarten students. The materials in the kits are set up to have kids work to solve a challenge, try solutions, and continue to "tweak" their solutions until they meet with success. These kits are highly engaging for kindergarten students, and I am excited to watch their minds get wrapped around finding a solution to a challenge.

These materials will not only assist in developing STEM skills for my students, but they will also help to develop the resilience and persistence necessary to problem solve the road blocks life throws at us all.
