My Students
Our 3rd-5th grade Gifted and Talented Students are a memorable, kind, and curious bunch! What I love about them is that they come to school with smiles and laughter everyday! They love to play football, check out books MULTIPLE times a week from the library, and they are craving STEM activities! They are hard-working, great listeners, thoughtful, big readers and curious how things work! They want the opportunity to engage in STEM projects that allow them to think outside the box!
Nestled between the Majestic Bluffs of La Crosse, Wi and the Mississippi River is the charming, rural farming community of Stoddard, WI.
Our students enjoy fishing, boating, hunting, and camping in our low income school district.
This is a new program we are starting in our school and students involved are so excited to work on STEM projects! Each one of these students loves to learn and try new things! I'm so grateful to get to work with them and provide them with new opportunities that will hopefully shape their future in positive ways!
My Project
The 2 Chromebooks we are requesting will be shared between 12 Gifted and Talented students. This is a new program we are beginning in our rural community with implementing STEM projects. We realized through our planning process that many STEM options require computers to run the program. We will be running our STEM program in our library and currently we only have 2 older desktops that do not support the STEM programs. The donation to this project will not only help our students technological application, but it will help close the gap and allow our students to collaborate on projects they otherwise wouldn't have the opportunity to participate in!
Plus in this technology ran world, any interaction with updated technology will increase their literacy as well as their desire to learn and use the new technology!
