Instead of a difficult task, cutting cardboard became an adventure. We put out a school wide request to save cardboard and suddenly the ideas were flowing! \r\n\r\nThe first project the kids used it for was creating our educational display for the school at the county fair. This booth is an annual event and we are required to center the booth around the fair theme. This year it was \"Cows, Carrots and Merits\". Go time in the art room! After some planning and consulting , the students decided to display their carrot on a cardboard replication of a farm stand. They cut using the chomp saw, designed it, built it and painted all themselves. Once they mastered cutting curves, they proceeded to make cardboard baskets to hold their carrots. And that was just the beginning. \r\n\r\n5th graders were learning about graffiti and immediately began asking if they could cut out large cardboard graffiti letters--at recess! Other students have started designing cardboard people. Having a tool like this has already made so many more projects possible! Our school appreciates your generosity tremendously. As for my classroom, the Chomp Saws are all that I dreamed and more. Creativity and imaginations are flowing, as well as joy.
