My Students

My pre-kindergarten classroom consists of 18 students. I have a blended classroom and many of my students are at-risk students. Our school is a Title I school. All of the students receive free breakfast and many are receiving free or reduced lunch.

My pre-kindergarten students need fun and creative ways to enhance their STEM education and to help them develop STEM career skills that they will need throughout their life!

Science, technology, engineering, and math is a must-have for my classroom because it helps ensure that my students develop a lifelong love of learning! Pre-kindergarten students need to develop early STEM career skills that will help spark their imaginations and makes learning fun!

My Project

My Pre-K students learn so much through hands on learning and play. What better way to introduce them to STEM education and especially STEM careers than though play! My project will provide my students with hands on learning activities that will encourage and challenge them. They will learn about STEM careers through play using the Fairy Tales Problem solving Kits, Block Play Machines, and Create a Chain reaction kits. They will discover ways to create and design many types of structures. They will learn to problem solve to develop creative solutions to the challenges that they encounter during play. Students, then, will be able to take their new kits home and share what they have learned with their families!

Take Home STEM career kits will provide hands on activities to immerse my students and their families in exploring and learning all about STEM and STEM careers.

This Home and School connection is so important for my young students and their families. The kits will provide everything families will need to complete developmental appropriately hands on activities that introduce occupations, such as, mechanical, computer, transportation, aerospace and architectural engineering. They will learn about STEM careers and through hands on activities they will learn to problem solve, and to explore solutions to the challenges.
