My Students
My students are a group of energetic first graders who come to school each day eager to learn. They attend a high poverty, Title I school in rural Georgia. Over 85% of my children live in poverty. Our elementary school is a low-income, rural school.
Regardless of our socioeconomic status, these students are young, ambitious, and smart.
Despite their hardships, my students are eager to learn and do their best. They want to be in school because they want to learn as much as they can so they can be successful. I teach an amazing group of first graders who come to school each day with smiles on their faces.
My Project
Science is more than a subject in school; it's an approach to the world! I want my students to get the most out of their science curriculum and with these supplies for the classroom, they will have that opportunity. Instead of simply going to the lab and having STEM as a special once or twice a week, I want to fully engage them with a content-rich classroom with opportunities to see the life cycle of a butterfly, have containers to place their STEM kits in, mats to work STEM on, and flexible seating to make them comfortable working in groups during STEM time.
These science kits and supplies for my classroom will encourage my students to enjoy all that science has to offer and will help my students observe how the world works around them.
Through hands-on learning with science kits, Containers to hold their STEM supplies, and comfortable seating , my students will be able to be fully engaged in more scientific knowledge. I want my students to love exploring and adding to their STEM resources in my classroom will help them do so!
