Your generosity brought so much excitement and joy to my students. Many of my students come from low-income households, so when the packages arrived, they were genuinely thrilled. I heard things like, \"Is this really for us?\" and \"We get to keep this in our class?\" They were so proud to help unpack everything, and even more excited to start using it all right away.\r\nThis month is Hispanic Heritage Month, and we've read I Am Frida Kahlo and Where Are You From? together as a class. These books sparked some powerful and personal conversations. My ESOL students lit up when they started sharing stories about their families, their traditions, and where they come from. One student asked if we could dress like Frida one day, and later this month we are having a parade. Watching my students take pride in who they are and teach others about their culture has been one of the highlights of the year so far.\r\n\r\nThe sensory tools have also made a big difference in our daily routine. Students who need help staying calm or focused now use the fidget tools and sensory stickers without even asking. It's helping them manage their emotions and feel more in control which means they're more ready to learn.\r\n\r\nWe just started diving into the poetry book as well, and the creativity is already flowing. Some are writing silly poems, others are sharing sweet or personal ones, and they're so excited to read them aloud. Thank you again for making these meaningful moments possible. You've helped create a space where every student feels supported, seen, and excited to come to school.","fullyFundedDate":1753974179496,"projectUrl":"project/empowering-young-minds-with-books-senso/9461411/","projectTitle":"Empowering Young Minds With Books, Sensory Tools & Organization!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Bene","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9432347_orig.jpg?crop=1271,1271,x4,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1705084656300","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9432347"},{"teacherId":4915774,"projectId":8525275,"letterContent":"When my students walked in the classroom and saw the new seat sacks they were in shock! The zipper pouches have been very helpful in keeping the sand trays from spilling and organizing materials. We use the plastic canvas under our letter formation papers and write the letters with crayons to create bumps the students can then trace with their fingers to add additional sensory to their letter formation practice.
