Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students at my school are eager to learn and grow and work collaboratively to build a community.

My students attend a high poverty school in which all of the students qualify for free lunch.

My students are eager learners despite some of the difficult challenges they face on a daily basis. Most of my students are fascinated by the world of science and love to explore and watch as things grow, change, adapt, and evolve.

One of our students' favorite parts of the day is our Morning Meeting time where we spend time together building community and learning how to get along, work together, and become family at school.

My Project

The scissors, glue sticks, and primary journals will be used to create our very own math journals in our Kindergarten class.

These materials will help broaden our creative learning in math and science by allowing us to use different topics to learn about math while we create a math journal to use throughout the year!

We will learn about animals, plants, and our world all while also learning about math. In our journal, we will practice counting objects, adding and subtracting, and even sorting! This math journal will be a place for us to practice our cutting and gluing skills as well.
