My students need 3 Chromebooks to integrate a digital component into their STEM lessons as well as into their writing.

My Students

For students to know that family and friends and sometimes, complete strangers, will donate to create a support system toward furthering their education, can be the life-long lesson which goes beyond the third grade. My students are all happy when they are learning new things!

My students have many cultural backgrounds; they also have different levels of ability.

We all come together daily as a rich melting pot...always ready to create something wonderful as a result! We are a small school located in the Bay Area. I want all of my students at the top of the STEM to be able to successfully compete in college and in the future economy.

My Project

Student will use the Chromebooks to access STEM-supporting sites. Educational games such as coding are important in today's curriculum. Another site is XtraMath which supports basic to complex math skills for students to practice at his or her own pace. My students will also use the Chromebooks in a variety of other curriculum-supportive settings, whether it is an online keyboarding program or taking an Accelerated Reader quiz individually or in groups accessing research information. The possibilities to reach further are what I am striving for with this project request. Imagine the future of student learning when the playing field is level; where the haves and have nots are given the same opportunities...wow!

The right tools for the job!

I can teach my third graders the foundational subjects, but I need technology to teach technology; it is as basic as that. With Chromebooks in the class I can say, "Go access your doc folder and finish your report." and each student will know what I mean.
