My students need Magnetic Tiles and Magnetic Building Blocks to become engineers. My students would love to get coding practice with the Learning Resources Code and Go Robot and learn how to configure the Circuit Maze.
My students come from a variety of different backgrounds and ethnicities. Our school is a Title One school with 43% free and reduced lunch. According to Forbes, "West Virginia has the lowest percentage of associates degree holders, or those with college experience". My students want to be the future. They want to be engineers and they want to write code.
In Room 192 we are all unique and we celebrate our differences; for it is our differences that give us our super powers.
My students set goals for themselves and they achieve them. They are smart, kind, and caring. They work hard as individuals and come together as a team. They show respect for each other. They are all Super Heroes.
My Project
STEM Resources can turn my class into mini-engineers and coding geniuses! My students need hands on experience to build S.T.E.M skills. Having Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math games and activities will stretch my students' brains and help them become excellent problem solvers. They will also gain communication skills by learning how to work together to accomplish tasks. I want my students to be able to use the Scientific Method to research and conduct experiments using these materials and come up with solutions to help solve real world problems.
I want to be able to provide my students with as many different learning experiences as possible.
These resources will equip my students with the skills they need at an early age to become interested in high demand S.T.E.M careers. I do not want my students to be left behind.
Students will be having so much fun doing hands on explorations and problem solving that they may not even realize they are learning. These STEM Resources would benefit my class for many years to come and hopefully change the future for many students.
