I'm very fortunate to be teaching this group of students. This will be my 2nd year with these same kids. I taught them in 5th and now we're moving onto 6th grade together.
What I love about them is how they really have become a family; they genuinely care for one another.
We share out good news and bad news at the start of class and you can feel genuine sympathy when a young lady mentions the passing of an aunt. They also love to recognize effort and improvement in each other, giving shout outs at the end of class to those that have shown a growth mindset.
My Project
My students have been learning what I've asked them to for 2 years now. This time, I gave my students the choice to design and research a project of their own. Some are straight forward biography investigations, others much more ambitious: exploring chemical reactions and Astrophotography!
These supplies will help my students create and illustrate their research in a hands on way, and allow us to close our 2 year experience together by creating lasting artifacts.
We've been learning what makes a research topic worthwhile, what makes a source of information reliable, and now we're assembling our final pieces. By donating, you'll help my students explore a topic they're interested in, and help remind that learning can be fun!
