I teach in a Title I elementary school. Our students come from a variety of economic backgrounds. Over 60% of our students receive free and reduced lunch. My students come in each day eager to learn. We are respectful, responsible, and ready to learn. Each day they work hard to learn as much as they can. Most of my students had never been to any sort of preschool prior to starting kindergarten. Because of this, they do not have much experience with writing letters, numbers, or using technology.
My Project
STEM toys foster creative thinking as well as helping to develop hand-eye coordination and motor skills. My students will be able to work together to build using the STEM toys.
These STEM toys will foster cooperative work, motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and creativity.
The best part is, they will think they are just playing and having fun!
Our toy selection in our classroom is limited and very old. Most of our Legos are broken. These new STEM toys will allow my students to have something new and exciting to play with during inside recess or at the end of the day.
