My Students

All students at our school receive free breakfast and lunch. The students come to school looking forward to my class because they absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! My goal is to allow them to experience activities that are not available to them at home.

STEAM and STEM activities are a big HIT, the students are getting to do hands-on activities with the help from DonorsChoose, they are interested in learning parts of a rocket, building one, and launching it.

My Project

Students hear about the rockets being launched into space more frequently now and they want to know how that works. The goal is to teach the students parts of the rockets, what is needed to make it fly, thrusters, projectory, torque, wind resistance, and recovery.

In order to study Flight, we need buildable rockets because it helps to learn the parts of the rocket and how each part plays a part in the total package of making a rocket fly, building one with hands-on activities makes it more fun and gives students a unique experience.

We will start with the water type rocket and move on to combustible engine rockets.
