My Project

Having amazing materials such as owl pellets, an owl pellet poster, watercolor paper, and Sharpies will allow us to explore owls through STEAM. This makes learning about owls so much more exciting than just reading about them.

The 1st graders always get so excited about dissecting owl pellets and it helps them to better understand owls and how they survive in nature.

Another goal of this project is to do a directed drawing of an owl to teach students about the parts of an owls body and how those body parts help it to survive in nature.

My students love learning and they get especially excited when projects like this one allow them to be hands on. Their natural curiosity and excitement to learn new things is one reason this group of 1st graders is so special.
