I am fortunate enough to teach 63 tremendously engaged and enthusiastic third graders. When not spending time with me, these kids spend half of their day learning Portuguese in our school's dual-immersion program.
These kids have a hunger for learning!
As a whole, they are unafraid to ask questions, they love engaging in class discussions, and they have a deep desire to get their hands on materials that will help them improve as learners and leaders. They know that failure is part of the learning process, and work hard to learn from their mistakes, try again, and learn from the process.
My Project
My students love hands-on learning! Though I am primarily my students' language arts teacher, it's also my job to reinforce the math and science concepts they learn in the Portuguese language. My students love when I am able to integrate STEAM projects based on the topics we are reading and writing about in class.
STEAM-based projects give my students opportunities to experience cross-curricular learning as we learn through our ELA curriculum.
