Our school is a unique place! Half of our student population is comprised of students who are learning English as a second language. They represent over 20 countries and 36 languages including: Albanian, Amharic, Arabic, Bosnian, Bulgarian, Chinese, Dari, Farsi, French, German, Gio, Greek, Haitian, Khmer, Korean, Krahn, Lao, Russian, Serbo Croation, Somalian, Spanish, Swahili, Tigrinyan, Turkish, Ukrainian, Urdu, Vietnamese. Many of our students went through extreme hardships in their home countries before they arrived here in the US.
They are determined and bright, critical and literal thinkers and doers, who are active members in their community.
Our 6th graders will be using a STEAM curriculum to enhance their abilities as critical and literal thinkers and doers. The Student STEAM Fest, hosted by the Rochester Makers Faire, is the perfect opportunity for our students to see real life connections with their learning.
In addition to participating in amazing hands on experiments, our students will be interacting with artists and scientists from their own city, showing them infinite possibilities with a hometown connection.
Our students will be able to see what they can do for their community, using the innovative creations they will inevitably make into reality.
Thank you in advance for gifting this amazing opportunity for our future makers.
