My students need STEAM education hands on activities. The exploration sets, engineering kits, and building sets will be extremely helpful when introducing this new concept to my students.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our Title I school is located in Southern California, surrounded by three correctional facilities. Last year, our school was funded allowing us to give every student a free lunch. We are praying we will be funded again for this coming year. Our school population consists of approximately 12% of our children who are in the foster care system. That does not include the ones not registered who are currently being taken care of by family members other than their biological father and mother.
My amazing class is full of energetic, sweet, and smart first grade students.
We are a self contained, full day class, with children who love to use all different types of modalities to learn! Yay!
My Project
STEAM education is crucial to educate and prepare the next generation of the American, and global workforce, and to allow this generation to create jobs and grow the economy. Students living in low-income areas benefit the most from participating in STEAM coursework. Therefore, I would love for my students to have access to high-quality STEM learning opportunities, and this can be done with the engineering sets and building kits that I have requested.
STEAM creates problem solvers!
This is a character trait I want all my students to possess before they leave my classroom. Also, the hands-on nature of STEAM encourages students to find ways of successfully working together. STEAM is about showing what you can do with your mind and hands. This is exactly what the hands on kits I requested will provide for my classroom, it will give my students the opportunity to grow in all of these aspects and hopefully become successful adults!
