The kids have learned all about hens and roosters. They have learned how eggs are laid and how fertilized eggs become chickens. They have learned the lifecycle and we now have eggs in our incubator. The kids are anxiously awaiting the arrival of our baby chicks. They have been more engaged than ever to learn about the lifecycle of chickens. They also learned that they can eat the unfertalized eggs and chickens as well. Many of them had no idea that they had been eating chicken every time they go to McDonald's to get nuggets. (Laugh). They also learned the difference between cage free eggs and ones that are not free to roam. Organic and not organic.
