The children I work with are very active and are constantly investigating the world around them. Finding ways for them to learn through exploration and art is my main goal this school year. My school is located in the largest district in Oklahoma City. I work with an amazing group of teachers who have a passion for helping this community through the arts.
I want my first-grade students to go home from school every day, proud of what they have learned, and eager to share with their families.
I am excited to start teaching my students through Arts Integration.
My Project
My goal is to make sure to help develop my students through different ways of learning, and I do this through lots of hands on activities. I have found that almost every student learns best through building and exploring with different materials. However, we are lacking in the STEAM department within my classroom.
Creativity is inventing, experimenting, growing, taking risks, breaking rules, making mistakes, and having fun.
I am requesting Plus Plus blocks, Zoobs, Gear Builders, Playstix, Geostix, marble runs, Brain Flakes, Magformers, wood blocks, different kinds of baseplates, and containers to organize all of these items. These items will help me engage each one of my students in different aspects of science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics. We will be able to use these items within different hands on centers as well as for early finishers and for gifted pullouts.
