This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students love learning and creating engineering projects. My students need to replace consumables to create various projects and to utilize in completing STEAM challenges. My students persevere despite the challenges in their daily lives.

I teach middle grades STEAM in a low socioeconomic area we are a Title 1 school - 75% qualify for free and reduced lunch.

My classes allow my students to develop teamwork, leadership, and technology skills that enable them to become high-level critical thinkers in order to meet personal, family, career, and community challenges they will face in their adult life. I believe that it is important to also incorporate art crafts into my challenges.

My Project

My students need to be able to complete STEAM challenges that build on the Engineering Design Cycle, allowing them to be engineers that solve real world problems. Every student in my classroom delights in being able to create, build, test and improve upon designs. They are each unique in the contributions that they bring to my classroom-love the challenged through academics. The consumables help my students to exploration and collaboration through hand on learning. It has been shown that students retain more information when they are kinesthetically challenged. I want to nurture that natural excitement- Here's to the next generation of engineers!
