Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

The students at my school really need to work on following directions and focusing on the work at hand. In the STEAM lab, I want to explore using paper to create origami and paper airplanes. We will use the STEM engineering process to complete these projects.

Folding paper can be very relaxing and promote wellness.

We will start with paper airplanes and tie them to our physics standards. Then, we will go into origami with jumping frogs and such.

Our students tend to give up easily and I want to push them to keep trying and never give up. They may come from underprivileged backgrounds, but they are capable of doing hard things. This ultimately builds confidence.
