My students and I cannot thank you enough for contributing to our school. The Social Emotional Journals are currently being utilized by fourth and fifth grade students who receive supplementary social skills instruction in the mornings. Each morning they start their day with an activity from the journal. \r\n\r\nEach student was given a journal and was given the opportunity to peek into the contents of the book. Since the activities are short and sweet the kids agreed that this would be a great way to start the day. After completing the assignment the students are either given the opportunity to share what they have written to the whole class or one on one with an adult. \r\n\r\nI firmly believe that personal growth is a product of self-reflection. With these journals, I hope that my students will continue to grow into great citizens. \r\n\r\nFor my next project, I hope to start a sensory room at the school. We have many students who have various kinds of sensory needs. However, at this time, the school is simply lacking the funds to create one .
