Staying Sharp With Frisbee Math!

My students need a pencil sharpener to be prepared, flying discs to be used as dry erase boards, and drums to use as our celebration instrument.

My Students

I have 21 homeroom students. I call them Mrs. McKnight's Bright Lights! They strive to SHINE, not only in academic areas, but also in their positive character traits. My students are polite and kind to others. We look for ways we can serve others in our school.

My children are creative and innovative.

They love to learn in a variety of methods. We love to come up with songs and dances to help learn new concepts. We celebrate each other's successes and are a school family!

My Project

Sharpened pencils lead to sharp minds! My students have to go across the hall to use another teacher's pencil sharpener. If we had one in the classroom it would be beneficial so students would have easy access to the sharpener in our own classroom.

The flying discs would be used as dry erase boards especially when we are completing our daily calendar math activities.

To keep the students engaged, I would have a student who has the correct answer throw the flying disc to me and then come up to explain the correct answer.

The drums would be used as a celebration instrument and also to keep the other students motivated!
