My Students

"Exercise" balls are or just for working out! Who knew an "exercise" ball could improve so many areas in an elementary classroom?

My kindergarten students are working harder than ever with the ever changing curriculum, yet they have many obstacles to overcome each day.

My students attend a public school in Florida that services all ranges of students from all cultural backgrounds and financial situations. My classroom currently has several students who have been diagnosed with ADHD, sensory disorders, oppositional defiance disorder, OCD, and ASD. Each year these numbers seem to become increasingly larger. I am constantly seeking ways to improve the educational situation for all of my students.

My Project

I currently have several students who sit on stability balls for increased focus. I have seen huge improvements in their ability to focus, handwriting, productivity, and especially self-esteem. Research has shown that stability balls increase blood circulation and increase the effectiveness of all organ systems. My goal is for each child in my class to sit on a stability ball in order to maximize their abilities to learn.

As the academic expectations for kindergarten students continues to increase so does the need for longer periods of time spent seated.

Please help my students reach their full potential by providing them with these great tools for success.
