Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are amazing! Most of them have been at the school since kindergarten, and our school is special because we can really develop a close relationship with each individual student as they grow up.
As a school with a bilingual program, students are immersed in rigorous instruction in both English and Spanish!
There are numerous benefits to being bilingual and students work very hard to access the curriculum despite it being a challenge. We have both Spanish-dominant and English-dominant speakers, which means that 100% of our students are second language learners!
My Project
My students are the best and deserve the best, nothing less! Unfortunately, not all of their families can afford to keep all the basic essentials at home. This is why my co-teacher and I are putting projects together to make care packages for students to be able to have all they need to stay healthy throughout the year.
Our students are growing and need access to snacks and hygiene products to make sure they grow safe and strong!
We are looking forward to having snacks readily available for students to access whenever they feel necessary and take snacks home as well when they need it. The dentist came and spoke with our students about the importance of oral hygiene and we want to make sure our students are able to follow their advice.
