Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is an urban high school with about 1,000 students, and it is a very diverse learning environment! My students encompass a variety of backgrounds, beliefs, and ideas. My students love interacting with their peers, socializing and telling jokes. They are full of passion, energy, and excitement and take pride in their successes.

Many of my students come from disadvantaged backgrounds and deserve to have every opportunity they can in order to succeed.

They are excited to be a part of PHS and I hope to help provide them with the skills they need in my class and beyond.

My Project

In my school district, all 9th graders are lucky enough to receive Chromebooks that they can use in class and take home to complete their work. However, very often, my students forget their chargers at home or misplace them. When students forget their chargers, they often ask me or their classmates to borrow their charger. Sometimes, they come up empty handed and students are forced to use their phones to complete their work. Typing on GoogleDocs on your phone is not easy.

This project would give me five extra Chromebook chargers that I can label and keep locked away until students need to use them in my room.

That way, I can assure that students will be able to use their Chromebooks in class even if they leave their charger at home or forget to charge their Chromebook before coming to school. I will also know that these chargers belong in my room in case they are misplaced.
