Help me give my students seating options within our science classroom! Stationary and wobble stools will compliment our newly donated round tables and allow for student choice. Flexible seating will optimize the learning environment!
My students are a diverse group of enthusiastic learners ready to tackle the next inquiry lesson in our sixth grade science classroom. I teach at a large middle school in Charlotte, NC with students from various ethnic and socio-economic groups. My students work in a collaborative environment and enjoy studying our integrated science curriculum. My desire is to create a class of life-long learners interested in taking their science lessons beyond the classroom and into their community.
I truly believe that the next great scientific minds are in my classroom!
My students are interested, dedicated young people willing to do the work needed to be successful in the science classroom. Together we have a lot of fun working through some very complicated science content and pushing ourselves to apply science to real-life situations and problems!
My Project
I am so excited to have my project of round tables for my classroom fully funded! Now for the next step on our journey to create flexible seating and student choice! Currently I have large plastic chairs which inhibit my children's ability to move freely about our classroom. Stationary and wobble stools will allow my students to choose how they will learn best and also free up valuable "wiggle room" in our class.
Wobble stools are just one tool to facilitate student movement while keeping my students focused on their science tasks!
Stationary stools will serve as an alternative for students and allow them to be fully involved with their group task without the constraints of a traditional chair. Flexible seating encourages my students to make wise choices and take an active role in their personal learning environment.
