Stay Organized, Stay Active: Cubby Storage for Our PE Students!

My Project

I have the opportunity this year to cover two periods of Physical Education and work alongside our incredible PE team at HDMS. Each day, students bring their iPads, fitness folders, and binders to class, along with water bottles and personal items.

My goal is to create an organized space where students can store these materials safely and access them quickly, helping class time flow more smoothly and allowing everyone to focus on learning, moving, and teamwork.

Our PE team would love to add a sturdy cubby storage system to our gym hallway. This system will serve as a designated spot for students to store their supplies that are needed during class: binders, iPads, fitness folders, and other classroom materials during PE.

Currently, students place their materials on the floor or in corners of the hallway, which can lead to misplaced items, clutter, and distractions. With a cubby system, we’ll have an organized, accessible, and safe way to store items, keeping our learning space functional and focused.

This small improvement will make a big difference in the flow of our PE classes, helping students transition smoothly and maintain responsibility for their belongings.

I am requesting: 2 x 25 - Modular cubby storage shelves (durable and easy to clean), which will create an efficient and organized environment for all our PE students, supporting both academic and fitness goals.

Organization builds responsibility and pride. By creating a clear, structured space for materials, we are teaching students to take ownership of their learning tools, while freeing up more time for activity, collaboration, and movement.

This project will directly impact all of our students across multiple PE periods this year and will continue to benefit future classes for years to come.
