My Project

These supplies, if funded, will provide my students with everything they need for a full year of learning. Over the years, I've collected scissors, colored pencils, crayons, and other items that are shared as class supplies. We are a low-income school and I understand how hard it can be for parents to fund one, two, three or more long class lists of supplies for their children, and for this reason I try to keep my list very short. One way I keep it short is by seeking help from donors to provide the essentials, as well as reusing past resources as best I can.

It's such a small thing but having supplies for every child ready on the first day allows them to start off on the same foot; nobody is lacking.

The paper and notebooks will be used for daily writing, and reflection, journaling and showing work for math questions. The expo markers are utilized by students on their individual marker boards to show math work, but also on wipe-clean mats that can be used for any subject. A lot of students prefer the slide of a marker to the grind of a pencil, and show more work on marker boards, therefore we go through a bunch of expo markers. Other markers are for artsy projects that we do frequently, so refilling the marker bin is a necessary next step to continue providing tools for posters and artsy creations.
