Thank you so much for your generosity! I know the summer break makes this thank-you a little delayed, but your gifts have already been well received by last year's class and are now highly anticipated by this year's students as well.\r\n\r\nMy current class has a significantly higher number of boys than girls, who will be thrilled with the variety of mechanical and tinkering options, and I also have a group of girls who are farmer/rancher types and never afraid to get their hands dirty! I'm confident these STEM items will be very popular at our class auctions.\r\n\r\nIn our classroom economy, students earn money by completing classroom jobs, demonstrating positive behaviors, and more. At the end of each month (after paying their \"bills\") they can either save their money or spend it at the class auction. I have no doubt items like the windmill generator will spark some fierce (while fun!) competition during silent bidding. This class is especially motivated by science, building, and technology, and I can't wait to see how their enthusiasm and motivation throughout the day grows knowing these options available for our class auctions..","fullyFundedDate":1744032840324,"projectUrl":"project/stem-treasures/9190308/","projectTitle":"STEM Treasures","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Backen","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5376800_orig.png?crop=375,375,x0,y27&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1689373762255","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-backen"},{"teacherId":5376800,"projectId":9189475,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for the canvases! When the 16x20s arrived in that huge box, I think I actually gasped. What a wonderful donation!\r\n\r\nI love weaving art into other, more \"academic\" subjects, not only to make the content more accessible for some students, but also to add a layer of fun to days that can otherwise feel too cookie-cutter or systematic. Kids need fine arts, fine motor practice, creativity, and all the other benefits art brings. Without intentionally planning for it, there often isn't enough time to include it unless it's integrated into our content areas.\r\n\r\nNow, with this cornucopia of canvas sizes, plus paints and brushes from past projects and budgets, I can easily integrate painting simply because the supplies are right here in my closet, ready to use. Thank you again! I can't wait to see what this class creates. The photos show a few examples from past classes when we explored plants, animals, and environments.","fullyFundedDate":1749141394057,"projectUrl":"project/art-canvas-for-enrichment/9189475/","projectTitle":"Art Canvas for Enrichment","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Backen","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5376800_orig.png?crop=375,375,x0,y27&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1689373762255","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-backen"},{"teacherId":5376800,"projectId":9191085,"letterContent":"These treasure box prizes have greatly increased the motivation in class as we push through to testing and beyond as we preview the next grade's content. Students have worked all year, and though I love that they are intrinsically motivated, it is also nice to reward them with a tactile and instant reward occasionally too. \r\n\r\nSome of the mints and candy were used immediately in a monthly auction. The monthly auctions allow students to save their classroom economy to purchase something on their 'payday,' which comes once a month. They always get very excited for this and work hard all month to earn money for these auctions. I believe a little bag of 3 bite-sized candies and a mint went for $1000, equivalent to about 3 months pay for them! I am excited to have a plethora of small prizes that they can earn in class through the end of the year. Thank you for your contribution, and your general support of teachers, students and classes like mine.","fullyFundedDate":1742923147293,"projectUrl":"project/treasure-box-restock/9191085/","projectTitle":"Treasure Box Restock","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Backen","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5376800_orig.png?crop=375,375,x0,y27&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1689373762255","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-backen"},{"teacherId":5376800,"projectId":8894195,"letterContent":"The standing table and stools have been such a great addition to our classroom. I have a lot of wiggly bodies and I love that they can stand and work, or move to the table when they have the urge to be somewhere other than sitting at their desk. Like anything, we've built expectations about when to use the standing table and the kids decided to have it be part of the 'fun chair' rotations, in addition to a couple of other options I have in the classroom. \r\n\r\nI am excited to continue using this standing table and may even get more in the future, as the students really do buckle down and get to work when they're standing at it.","fullyFundedDate":1734284790906,"projectUrl":"project/standing-and-working-table/8894195/","projectTitle":"Standing and Working Table","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Backen","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5376800_orig.png?crop=375,375,x0,y27&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1689373762255","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-backen"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_39396","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":168,"numTeachers":20,"percentFrplEligible":48,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":96,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":0,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"8.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_REMOTE"},"inStateSupporters":50.9,"schoolId":39396,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Hulett School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Hulett School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/wyoming/crook-county-school-district-1/hulett-school/39396"}
