My students need some basic materials like markers, scissors, and privacy partitions. Also, Scholastic News weekly magazine truly helps improve reading skills.

My Students
Help our 3rd grade classroom receive the materials it needs for student success. Scholastic News weekly magazine provides motivational reading material that helps students improve reading skills while learning about important current events. Grammar books and daily reading warm-ups also help.
My 3rd grade students come from a variety of backgrounds.
The majority are African American, a few are Hispanic, two Filipino, and the rest are white. They are full of energy and enthusiasm. Their academic abilities range from advanced to far below grade level. Our school is a Title I school in Los Angeles, California. Title I refers to a school with a high percentage of students from low-income families.
My Project
Scholastic News magazine is a real help for reading success. It's a weekly magazine containing current events for kids that is motivational and inspirational. The daily reading warm-ups are super sponge activities to get kids to use critical thinking skills. It's a great use of time during the first part of morning business while teacher checks homework and takes attendance. Markers and scissors are basic necessities for my budding authors/illustrators/artists. The giant magnetic lined page is a great way to model many papers for students, showing them how to format different kinds of writing. Privacy partitions help little test takers have their own space to concentrate in, and the grammar book set helps explain all the different parts of grammar in a fun, easy to understand way.
This project contains all of the materials I need to complete my fun and rigorous classroom.
Thank you for making a positive impact on the learning of the super kids in my 3rd grade class.
