With the funding of the board games, card games, and incentives to encourage positive classroom behaviors, we have been able to tap into further learning and a community mindset. The use of the games and incentives has empowered our students to take charge of their behaviors and has helped them learn to work together in positive ways. Seeing them motivated and engaged when we have Free Time Friday has been exciting!\r\n\r\nWhen we first received the materials, students were amazed at the variety of game choices they would have on Fridays if they demonstrated engaged learning throughout the week. Students began participating more frequently, following directions immediately, and helping each other in table groups in an effort to earn points throughout the week. The first time they played with the games was like a holiday morning! Students consistently work together, teaching each other how to play certain games, such as chess. Many students enjoy assembling Lego projects together, collaborating on the creation of amazing objects and landscapes. Students help each other set up and clean up activities, as well. It is a delight to watch them play each Friday after all of their hard work throughout the week!\r\n\r\nAgain, thank you for your donation. The materials have brought great joy to our classroom and we look forward to many more FreeTime Fridays.","fullyFundedDate":1758846869717,"projectUrl":"project/play-to-learn-learn-to-play/9670493/","projectTitle":"Play to Learn, Learn to Play","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Goodman","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp5922940_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1538074480640","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/msrandigoodman"},{"teacherId":2622490,"projectId":8506621,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for contributing to my project and ensuring that my class got these materials! Sometimes I have to make extra copies of materials when we have run out, or when I need a last second activity like on a rainy day. I also have the ability to have colored ink to make centers, vocabulary cards, and other items for the students to use in color.
