My Project

These tools, such as books, magnetic tiles, and puzzles will give my students the ability to have a soft start for their mornings. We will create bins of materials that they can pull out to warm their brains up slowly and adjust to being at school. My learners come to school in varying states of mind each day. Giving them the option to work on a puzzle or build with blocks for a few minutes each day will allow them an opportunity to ease into their day. By having short, easily accessible drawer storage like these, students will be able to have complete control over the way they feel they will best start the day and not feel limited by asking someone else to get out the items they would like.

Each year I seem to have more students who have a difficult time regulating their emotions and getting back to work after an upset.

I am hoping that by building their skills and give them time to ease into our day, we have better success in developing that resilience and regulation that people use daily throughout their lives. We are hoping to fill the missing links!
