Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our new semester begins January 26th- while I will be getting new students for half of my classes, I am keeping the other half of my students- and I would like for them to begin the new semester on the right path. I am requesting Post-it Super Sticky Easel Pads, Construction Paper Card Stock Printer Paper, Gel Pens, Mechanical Pencils and more.

Over the past semester, we've finalized procedures in our classroom that will help my students pass their Advanced Environmental exam at the end of the year- these supplies will ensure the success of those procedures.

In my classroom, students know the steps of how to answer a question for their exam: they identify instructional terms, identify/define academic vocabulary, and braindump what they know. In order to perform each step the way it's intended, students color code each step as either red, blue or purple (hence the colored pens). They then get into Collaborative Study Groups where they collaborate on answers using the sticky notes and Giant Sticky pads.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
