My Students

Hello! I am the STEM teacher and I teach children from PreK to 5th. I am looking forward to introducing the world of STEM to my students. It is so exciting to be teaching these children how to be "real world" problem solvers using 21st-century skills. My students are 39% ELL. This is the first time in schools for many of these students from other countries.

I also have an ICT class for each grade and a horizon which is an 8:1:1 program for Autistic children (k to 3) as well as three 12:1:1 (k to 4).

My school is also a Title 1 school which qualifies 97% of the students for free lunch based on their economic status.

My Project

The students in all of my classes need supplies to start the year off on the right foot, such as Crayola crayons, Crayon sharpener, pencils, glue sticks, and pens. These supplies will help prepare these students to be more creative when designing and completing various engineering projects. Students usually bring these supplies for their regular classroom teacher so when it comes to supplies for a cluster teacher (me) I try to ask for as little as possible to lessen the financial burden on the families. However these supplies are still needed to be prepared to work to their fullest potential. These supplies will help all of my students from pre-K to 5th grade. Having these supplies will also save time We are usually looking for a sharpened pencil or paper which sometimes results in not completing assignments. My students are with me for a limited amount of time each day and often become frustrated when they do not finish a task especially my students special needs students. I would like to limit the amount of frustration and increase the amount of creativity in my classroom.
