This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have an amazing set of Kindergarten students from a wide range of different backgrounds. Our school is an inner city school with full free lunches.

My class specifically are ELL (English Language Learners), the students who are learning English for the first time along with their letters and numbers!

They want to learn and are excited for new experiences and getting to learn a new language. We have a large class of excited little learners waiting to discover new things.

My Project

This big book stand will enable my students to engage literature activities as a whole group. My students will not only be able to listen to stories but also read big book stories together.

This will give students a chance to see words in print while they hear me read out loud to them; this way students will be able to start to recognize more words by sight to help them learn to read.

When using this stand all of my students will be also be able to participate in small group reading activities. This stand will not only allow for student to share literature but will enable me to provide a variety of activities and hand on experiences with the use of the white board.
