Starting a New Basketball and Football Team - Need Gear!

My Students

Our school is a 40+ percent special education population school with a very high mental health population as well. Approximately 70% of our students are part of the free or reduced price lunch program. Our school currently has a lacrosse team and a flag football team though, and we're looking to bring more sports to our school. We have had attendance struggles with many students and research shows that student athletes are absent from school 50% less often, have an 11% higher graduation rate, and are four times more likely to attend college.

My Project

I am a special education teacher. Our school struggles with enrollment and with attendance.

I have coached sports at other schools and now I want to bring sports to our school.

Sports teams in the school unite the school body, provide positive outlets for students and connections for students, teachers and families.

This donation will provide 24 footballs and 15 basketballs for students to be able to create team practices. This will provide an opportunity for after school activities that are healthy and safe while connecting students as they work as a team at a common activity everyone enjoys.
