I would recommend it to every elementary school teacher, every high school/middle school advisory teacher, every parent, every- everyone! Every single student has benefited from the various functions of the Skylight. Whether it is sending in photos of their pets, their friends/family members, or goofy school memories, the reward system that helps us teach behavior skills, the task board that keeps us organized, or the calendar that helps us keep track of school events, the SKYLIGHT is an epic addition to our classroom. \r\n\r\nWhen they first saw it, the kids didn't fully know what to think of it. However, it has completely transformed the culture. Kids want to get their rewards, so they work for their stars. Teachers report that when a student isn't living up to expectations, all they need to say is, \"Do I have to send an email about your stars?\" And with that, an entire behavior change occurs for the positive. Students have started encouraging others to ensure they earn their stars during class time and stay out of trouble. Losing stars is an epic consequence for most. They always want to show up and be their best. When they don't, they know that there is the next day where the task list resets and we try again. Such an excellent life lesson!","fullyFundedDate":1750908249550,"projectUrl":"project/smart-scheduling-on-lock/9387763/","projectTitle":"Smart Scheduling on Lock!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Dolge","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3209291_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1743042782604","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3209291"},{"teacherId":3209291,"projectId":9275691,"letterContent":"What a fantastic gift these supplies have been! This has been an absolute joy to see come to life. My students walked into what used to be an old storage room and saw it turned into a place of calm, comfort, and support. Whether it is a child acquiring hygiene supplies in a dignified manner, students enjoying the comfort of flexible seating, or simply having access to a space where they are away from the hustle and bustle of a hectic learning environment, it has been inspiring to see. \r\n\r\nI have seen students who struggled with attendance show up more consistently and declare this space as one of their preferred places. Now their attendance has improved immensely. They feel like they have a place in our building, and they can work peacefully. As groups have settled in, you will see collaboration from students who have never worked alongside each other before. However, spending time in this room working on separate projects has led to new friendships, more partnerships, and increased teamwork as time has progressed. \r\n\r\nThank you again for this amazing gift. My students definitely feel the love and care that was behind it.","fullyFundedDate":1746787211030,"projectUrl":"project/shared-learning-spaces-cultivating-coll/9275691/","projectTitle":"Shared Learning Spaces: Cultivating Collaboration and Growth","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Dolge","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3209291_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1743042782604","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3209291"},{"teacherId":3209291,"projectId":9262560,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donations to this project. I know I had some work to do.\r\n \r\nWhen I first had my students use them in my Sports and Recreation class, some were raring and ready to step, while the others were hesitant to put them on. I told them that if they could get to a certain amount of steps by the end of the hour, they could choose the activity the next day we met. That is all it took and they started to accrue steps.\r\n\r\nI continue to use these pedometers within my other classes.
