My students need basic supplies to learn in school. Paper and pencils are essential as well as maintains dry erase boards so students can clearly see them. PLEASE HELP!
I am a U.S. History teacher at HMS We are a Title 1 school with a high poverty rate and a high percentage of free and reduced lunches. My students come from all walks of life and all different cultural and economic backgrounds. For many, life outside of school poses significant challenges.
But in my classroom we are all the same.
My students have a desire to learn and to succeed. They love hands on learning techniques and excel in creative debates and projects. They love to show their knowledge, be the center of attention and laugh. They love to laugh. With classroom money extremely limited and the high majority of my students unable to provide outside resources, providing basic school supplies is extremely difficult. It is only with the assistance of generous donors, that my students can learn in a stress free environment with all the tools they need.
My Project
Without enough textbooks and materials. I make multiple copies daily as well as provide pencils and other needed materials to ensure every student has what they need to learn. Additionally I utilize my dry erase board daily. Repeated use has left it dingy and I need to clean it daily with dry erase board cleaner to keep it in good condition for the students. I utilize post it notes for reminders and student passes. All of these basic supplies are necessary to create a healthy learning environment. Any help you are able to give will make a difference!
