Introduction:

In the bustling world of elementary education, mornings can set the tone for the day ahead.

I want to give our students, especially those facing challenges with anxiety, the best start to their day. So, I am seeking funding for our "Start with STEM" project, which aims to integrate engaging STEM activities into our morning routine to help students begin their day with curiosity and calm.

How STEM Activities Help:

The "Start with STEM" project seeks to incorporate hands-on, engaging activities that not only pique students' interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics but also serve as a grounding technique. By starting the day with activities such as building simple machines, experimenting with magnets, or simply creating, students can transition from the hustle of arrival to focused learning. These activities encourage critical thinking and develop fine motor skills that are crucial not just in academic settings but in everyday life.

Project Goals:

The primary goal of this project is to reduce morning anxiety and nervousness among students, making them feel excited to come to school and prepared to tackle the day's challenges. Additionally, we aim to:

-Foster a love for STEM by exposing students to interactive content.

-Develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills through hands-on learning.

The Uniqueness of Our Students:

Our gifted and talented students exhibit a unique set of characteristics that can make classroom settings challenging. These students often experience heightened sensitivity to their environments and higher emotional reactivity. Incorporating STEM bins into our morning routine offers these students a way to channel their exceptional cognitive energies.

Funding for the "Start with STEM" project would create stepping stones to building confident, curious, and resilient young minds. I appreciate your consideration and hope you will support my desire to bring STEM to the start of our students' days.
