My students have old, dusty, crusty books that they're tired of and aren't age appropriate. I didn't inherit much in my mid-year classroom assignment as a brand new teacher. When I bring books into the classroom from my house they practically inhale them and beg for more. I want them to spend their free time growing as readers and a solid classroom library that meets all students where they are is sorely needed. I want students to feel represented in the pictures they see and relate to the words they read.
